Just as the sun illuminates the snowy fields of Ulaanbaatar in our header photo, a shared commitment to biblical governance and organizational integrity dawns across East Asia, spanning China, Hong Kong, Japan, Mongolia, South Korea, and Taiwan. GTP walks alongside local stewards as they build peer accountability groups, translate essential ministry resources, and nurture healthy, resilient service across vibrant communities.

Programs

GTP made significant strides in translating core resources—including books (The Sower, The Choice, and The Council), the GTP Diagnostic Tools and Templates, and 30-day devotionals—into both Traditional and Simplified Chinese. This rich library serves as the bedrock for delivering contextualized training to Chinese-speaking communities.

The GTP Chinese team piloted Mandarin cohorts in Taiwan on Biblical Governance and Journey of Empowerment (JOE) in January 2026. In Hong Kong, the team delivered a Cantonese Biblical Governance workshop for the pastoral team of a leading mega-church in April 2026. GTP received additional invitations to deliver onsite teaching for two deacon boards in Hong Kong in August 2026.

Peer Accountability

Peer Accountability Group (PAG) initiatives advance as local teams strengthen their stewardship of standards and accreditation structures across the region:

• Hong Kong: The PAG working group, formed following a GTP visit in 2024, finished drafting local standards and is prayerfully discerning strategic priorities moving forward.
• Japan: The core group translated the Christian Ministry Advancement (CMA) booklet Foundations, presented on church accounting at the Japan Evangelical Alliance General Assembly, and launched MA-net (Ministry Administrator Network) to provide peer coaching on organizational and theological assessments. Intentionally "going slow to go fast," the core group continues connecting like-minded stewards across Japan to maintain long-term momentum.
• Mongolia: The GTP East Asia regional team and local partners hosted the first onsite biblical governance workshop in Ulaanbaatar in April 2026. The event enabled over 40 local participants to gain practical, actionable insights on board governance. Receptive leaders formed a working group toward establishing a local PAG.
• South Korea: Efforts continue to reconnect with CCFK and key partners to reactivate PAG work nationwide.
• Taiwan: Following the GTP visit earlier this year, Taiwanese Christian workers now discuss forming a working group to promote local governance and accreditation.

Pastoral Care

In China, GTP work centers on organizational mentoring and holistic leader care. Since late 2025, GTP has mentored a Social Service Organization (SSO) in the Greater Bay Area, guiding its key people to strengthen core operations by applying best practices in stewardship and governance.

In parallel, GTP collaborates with a local pastoral group to co-create a contextualized governance and leader care curriculum. Designed as a pilot initiative addressing the urgent global need for leader care and well-being, this effort paves the way for a multi-city rollout across China and aims to share key insights with global communities in 2027.

• Praise God for the completed Chinese translations and strong engagement in Hong Kong and Taiwan training sessions.
• Pray for the Chinese team as they develop the first on-demand course and pilot-test it with a cohort before launching it to extend reach among Chinese speakers.
• Pray that God uses the upcoming workshops in Hong Kong and the pilot initiative in China to bring deep, transformational growth to Christian workers.
• Pray for PAG working groups in Hong Kong, Japan, and Mongolia as they discern their next steps.
• Pray for God’s perfect timing to open doors into Macau and North Korea, completing our reach across all eight countries and territories in East Asia.
