From Busy-ness in Ministry to Breakthrough and Renewed Mission
For nearly three decades, Erika served Jesus Christ through the Assemblies of God in Peru, pastoring a local congregation while coordinating ministries that mobilized churches to engage their communities with Christ’s love.
Today, as National Director of Social Outreach, she guides more than 5,000 churches toward compassionate, transformative ministry, reshaping what many once viewed as “social assistance” into a gospel-centered mission with societal impact.

Her journey began in 2013 when she founded Perú Mission World, mobilizing volunteers to serve vulnerable communities in the Andes and Amazon. The ministry grew rapidly, establishing feeding programs, training churches, and delivering humanitarian aid.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, she coordinated the Assemblies of God national emergency response, deploying healthcare workers to serve more than 10,000 people. These experiences prepared her for her current national leadership role.
Even while leading large-scale initiatives, Erika sensed a deeper spiritual need. “We become very busy serving the Lord,” she reflected, “but sometimes, amidst all that activity, we drift away from the intimacy we need with Him.”
Around this time, her friend Rubiela Plaza (GTP Church Ambassador from Colombia) introduced her to Global Trust Partners and the Journey of Empowerment (JOE) course.

At first, Erika felt simple curiosity regarding the resources and tools GTP offered. However, as she began the course, she quickly realized that God used the material to speak directly to her heart. Through the lessons, she found fresh clarity and freedom in God’s mission.
This encounter with JOE marked a breakthrough that renewed her joy, clarified her calling, and reshaped her approach to ministry. “It felt like the Lord brought me back to the path,” she said. “It renewed my commitment to Him and reminded me why I serve.”
Soon after, she accepted the role of GTP Country Coordinator for Peru. She began rallying dozens of participants to register for JOE. As she guided them, she witnessed transformation firsthand. Stewards rediscovered their passion, professionals practiced generosity, and believers shared their faith more intentionally.

Encouraged by these stories, Erika began sharing the course widely. Today, she envisions a movement of stewards across Peru equipped with biblical principles, mobilizers who help others discover their calling. “I believe many people search for clarity and purpose,” she said. “These tools help bring people back to the heart of God and His mission.”
What began as a personal renewal now multiplies into a wider movement of discipleship and service, with Erika walking alongside others as they step into their God-given calling.

De la rutina ministerial a un llamado y misión renovados
Durante casi tres décadas, Erika ha servido a Jesucristo a través de las Asambleas de Dios en Perú, pastoreando una congregación local mientras coordina ministerios que movilizaban a las iglesias a involucrarse con sus comunidades con el amor de Cristo.
Hoy, como Directora Nacional de Acción Social, guía a más de 5,000 iglesias hacia un ministerio compasivo y transformador, redefiniendo lo que muchos antes veían como “asistencia social” en una misión centrada en el evangelio con impacto en la sociedad.

Su camino comenzó en 2013 cuando fundó Perú Mission World, movilizando voluntarios para servir a comunidades vulnerables en los Andes y la Amazonía. El ministerio creció rápidamente, estableciendo programas de alimentación, capacitando iglesias y entregando ayuda humanitaria.
Durante la pandemia de COVID-19, coordinó la respuesta nacional de emergencia de las Asambleas de Dios, desplegando personal de salud para servir a más de 10,000 personas. Estas experiencias la prepararon para su rol actual de liderazgo nacional.
Aun mientras lideraba iniciativas de gran escala, Erika percibía una necesidad espiritual más profunda. “Nos volvemos muy ocupados sirviendo al Señor", reflexionó, “pero a veces, en medio de toda esa actividad, nos alejamos de la intimidad que necesitamos con Él.”
En ese tiempo, su amiga Rubiela Plaza (Embajadora Eclesial de GTP de Colombia) le presentó Global Trust Partners y el curso Viaje de Empoderamiento (VDE).

Al inicio, Erika sintió una simple curiosidad por los recursos y herramientas que GTP ofrecía. Sin embargo, al comenzar el curso, rápidamente se dio cuenta de que Dios usó el contenido para hablar directamente a su corazón. A través de las lecciones, encontró nueva claridad y libertad en la misión de Dios.
Este encuentro con VDE marcó un punto de inflexión que renovó su gozo, aclaró su llamado y transformó su enfoque del ministerio. “Fue como si el Señor me trajera de vuelta al camino”, dijo “Renovó mi compromiso con Él y me recordó por qué sirvo.”
Poco después, aceptó el rol de Coordinadora de País de GTP para Perú. Comenzó a movilizar a decenas de participantes para inscribirse en VDE. Al acompañarlos, pudo ver la transformación de primera mano.
Muchos mayordomos en Perú redescubrieron su pasión, profesionales cristianos practican la generosidad y creyentes comparten su fe con mayor intencionalidad.

Animada por estas historias, Erika comenzó a compartir el curso ampliamente. Hoy, visualiza un movimiento de mayordomos en todo Perú, equipados con principios bíblicos, movilizadores que ayudan a otros a descubrir su llamado. “Creo que muchas personas buscan claridad y propósito,” afirmó. “Estas herramientas ayudan a las personas a regresar al corazón de Dios y a Su misión.”
Lo que comenzó como una renovación personal ahora se multiplica en un movimiento más amplio de discipulado y servicio, con Erika caminando junto a otros mientras dan pasos hacia su llamado dado por Dios.
