Karen Kwok
Karen was born to a Buddhist family but was raised by her grandmother close to a church where missionaries taught her about God. In 1975, she migrated to Toronto, Canada for her studies and then worked in large US and Canadian corporations as Human Resource Director, Operation Manager, and Chief Financial Officer. She also pioneered a university campus ministry that preached the gospel to exchange students from China for over 20 years.
In 2007, Karen returned to Hong Kong not only to serve her sick father but also to help establish a new community church, Island Evangelical Community Church (IECC). As the Senior Finance Director, she helped the church establish governing rules, policies, procedures, control, risk management, and financial and fundraising strategies. She also helped with automation, digital transformation, overseeing the financial operations, and safeguarding the financial healthiness of the church. Her current assignment is to fundraise to build a church building with a social service center serving the community. She aims to be a divine overcomer in the world.
Karen facilitates GTP efforts in the following 7 countries in the East Asia region: China, Hong Kong, Japan, Macau, Mongolia, South Korea, and Taiwan.
